AT THE MARKET
We at Copper Creek Farms LLC strive to bring you
the freshest, chemical free fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
We use sustainable as well as organic methods. By
building up our soil using microbes we are putting
valuable nutrients into the soil that are absorbed by
fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Therefore you are getting
healthier food. We are working to preserve the soil
for future generations.
ON THE FARM
Using sustainable methods we also raise grass and
milk fed chicken, eggs, pork, beef, and turkeys. The
milk helps the animals stay healthy because
it has raw enzymes that help digestability for
animals as well as humans. It also puts friendly
bacteria where you need them most. By eating grass
and enjoying the sunshine the animals are healthier.
We offer cow shares as well as goat shares that
gives you part ownership of the herd. By becoming
a part owner you also have access to raw milk.
Although we do not bring these items to the
market, they are available for pick up at our farm.
We will have fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs at the
Kokomo Farmers' Market along with information about our farm.
We look forward to meeting you!!
BROWN EGGS --- We have free range chickens, which means they run all over the farm. They lay brown eggs that are rich in all the nutrients our bodies need. All of our chickens are grass fed and hormone free.
BROILERS --- We also have broilers we raise from baby chicks. They are also out in the open, however we place them in coops that are moved daily so they can enjoy the green grass. We are working on GMO free!
GOAT MILK --- This is available through our herd share program. Our goats are fed no corn. We do supplement with barley, beet pulp and oats along with alfalfa hay. We also carry butter and cheese through our CSA co-op.
PORK --- We raise milk fed pork. We supplement with a small amount of corn. Our customers tell us it is virtually greaseless and has none of the strong pork taste that you get in a store.
JAMS and JELLIES --- Our jams and jellies are made with real fruit grown on the farm and orchards.
TURKEYS --- We raise turkeys much the same way as our broilers. We usually get our poults in July and raise them until Thanksgiving. Average weight is around 25 to 35 pounds.
VEGETABLES --- Most of the produce we raise comes from Heirloom seeds. Heirlooms are seeds that are GMO free and will produce seed that can be harvested and used the following year. Hybrids are designed to produce that year only and will not produce seeds that will be like the parent plant. All our produce is chemical free. We do use organic fertilizers.
FRUITS --- Our fruits are raised much the same way as our vegetables. We believe in naturally building up our soils along with the help of organic fertilizers, such as allowing our broilers and chickens to graze in the orchard. It provides shade for them and helps us with our bug problems.
MICHIGAN FRUIT --- When a late cold snap contributes to crop loss we offer Michigan fruit to help supplement our own fruit. It's straight from the tree to you. Nothing beats tree ripened fruit!
EGG NOODLES --- These are made with our hormone free and grass fed eggs.
CANDLES --- These candles are made by a local person. They are made from paraffin and have wonderful scents. We have found them to burn evenly with the scent always there, meaning quality oils are used.
HERBS --- We are working on creating an herb garden. We hope to have it up and running soon.
HONEY --- This comes from a local beekeeper who raises superior honey. We have found that it does not crystallize as quickly as other honeys. If it does crystallize, set it in a pan of hot water until it is once again free flowing.
MAPLE SYRUP --- This is also made locally. Maple syrup provides B vitamins and can be used as a sugar substitute in many recipes and drinks.
BEEF --- We will be offering grass and milk fed beef. The meat is tender and very lean. Taste the difference!
ABOUT US --- We live and produce our products in Miami County, Indiana. As we worked to provide a healthier, chemical free environment and diet for our family, others began asking us how they could provide the benefits of food raised naturally. Our children work alongside of us, learning the responsibility of raising animals humanely.
Our animals receive fresh air, sunshine, clean water and a grass based diet. Meat from grass fed animals has been shown to be leaner then grain finished animals and offer the benefits of higher levels of vitamin A and E, CLA, and omega 3 fatty acids. We are thankful that we are able to provide this healthy food for you.
